Zoo Berlin, Berlin

Zoo Berlin was opened in 1844. The zoo was almost entirely destroyed in the Second World War. The zoo area was hit by bombs. The damage was restored step by step.
Most of the animals are housed in enclosures designed to recreate their natural habitat. Zoo Berlin is home to the giant pandas, the polar bears and lots of other animals.
There are some special enclosures, the futuristic Hippo House, the Panda Garden, the Penguin World or the Wold of Birds; that is the reason why it is the most-visited zoo in Europe.
The Aquarium is a part of the Berlin Zoologischer Garten complex.
